Indigenous peoples knew the area of Dunsborough - the place I am privileged to work and live - .as “Quedjinup”. Quedjinup means "place of women" in the Wardandi dialect of the Noongar language…. how wonderfully marvelous is that!

I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land where I work and live, the Wardandi People of the Noongar Nation, and pay my respects to its Elders, past and present. I celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of all communities who also work and live on this land. I acknowledge the Wardandi and Pibelmen have been custodians since the land was soft (creation times) and continue to perform age old ceremonies of celebration, initiation and renewal. I acknowledge their living culture and their unique role in the life of this region.
